Painting Quilt Pattern, 3 sizes, Instant Download PDF

My teenage daughter loves to paint, as well as my younger son who uses it as an outlet for his wiggles. I really think this is a fun quilt for all ages. A neat way for a quilter to use there artistic skills to honor another form of art.

The quilt is made in my Counted Quilts style.

Step 1: Cut strips for each fabric color.

Step 2: Cut those strips into rectangles of varying lengths and label alphabetically.

Step 3: Follow a full page labeled color image of the quilt, assembling piece by piece, row by row. Shaping is done with quick corner half square triangles, drawing a sew line corner to corner.

These are the perfect patterns for Beginning Quilters. All straight cutting, all straight seams.

The pattern has instructions for 3 sizes: 36x42, 24x28, and 48x56

The main instruction is for what I call the crib or baby size 36x42. Though with the 3 inch border shown in the pictures the finished size is 42x48 which makes a great lap or toddler quilt. The pattern also includes instructions for a scaled down to a 24x28, and scaled up image 48x56. Adding borders to these sizes gives you even more flexibility. To make it as center feature of a twin bed, or just a simple walling hanging for an artists studio.
